Dr. Regina Clewlow is a technology executive, board advisor, and founder who built and sold Populus, an enterprise SaaS platform that helps cities manage the future of mobility. With over a decade of experience at the intersection of transportation, technology, and policy, she now focuses on advising founders, investors, and organizations that are shaping a more sustainable and data-driven future.
Regina holds a Ph.D. from MIT in transportation systems, along with degrees in computer science and civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University. Earlier in her career, she conducted pioneering research at Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UC Davis, exploring how emerging mobility technologies—from ridesharing to automation—transform travel behavior, energy use, and urban design. Her work and commentary have been featured in The New York Times, The Economist, NPR, and Fortune.
Before founding Populus, Regina established Engineers for a Sustainable World, a global nonprofit backed by the National Science Foundation and UNESCO that helped integrate sustainability into engineering education. She continues to mentor entrepreneurs and guest lecture at universities including Stanford, MIT, and UC Berkeley, and is currently open to advisory and board roles at the intersection of technology, mobility, and climate innovation.
